Plaridel Journal Call for Papers: DEPICTING GENDER

The Plaridel Journal of the College of Mass Communication at UP Diliman is an open-access journal that is indexed in Scopus, EBSCO information Services, the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of Clarivate Analytics, and the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI).

The June 2021 issue of the Plaridel seeks to bring together studies which focus on the coverage, portrayal, articulation, representation, negotiation, or construction of gender in various forms, genres, and levels of communication and media. Empirical studies that are informed by theory and grounded on solid data are welcome. The deadline for the submission of full papers is on January 24, 2021. The issue editor is Prof. Fernando Paragas, PhD of the UP CMC Department of Communication Research.
– All articles should have a high degree of scholarship. They will have to be approved by the assigned issue editor and by selected referees for publication.
– All manuscripts should be written with proper citations using the American Psychological Association (APA) style. Articles must have a minimum of 5,000 words and must not exceed 10,000 words, while reviews must have at least 1,500 but not more than 5,000 words. They should be submitted in either English or Filipino.
– In addition, articles should be accompanied by an abstract of 100 to 150 words. Abstracts for contributions written in Filipino must be written in English and be not more than 200 words in length. Also, the abstract should be accompanied by 5 keywords.
