Biography

JAMES E. KATZ is the director of the Center for Mobile Communication Studies at Rutgers University where he is also the chair of the Department of Communication. He holds two patents in the field of telecommunication technology and has authored several books on the impacts of information and communication technologies such as mobile phones and the Internet. He completed his Ph.D. at Rutgers University and his M.A. and B.A. at the Northern Illinois University and has held faculty positions at University of Texas, George Mason University, Clarkson University, Harvard University, Indiana University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His forthcoming publication, Mobile Communication:
Dimensions of Social Policy, will be published by Transaction Publishers, Piscataway, NJ USA.
