INEZ Z. PONCE DE LEON (iponcedeleon@ateneo.edu) is an associate professor at the Department of Communication, Ateneo de Manila University. She holds a PhD in Science Communication from Purdue University, as well as BS and MS degrees in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from UP Diliman. She is a weekly columnist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer
