Biography

KAREN Y. VARONA is a Ph.D. in Communication candidate at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she also earned her M.A. in Media Studies (Journalism). An Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Visayas (Miagao), she has published on the role of internet memes in public discourse and on media coverage of Overseas Filipino Workers.
