Biography

Muria Endah Sokowati is a senior lecturer in the Communication Department, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She graduated from the doctoral program of Media and Cultural Studies at the Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. She is an expert in Media studies, especially in Film, Music, Advertising, Journalism and New Media. Her research interests include Popular Cultures, Gender and Sexuality, Youth Culture, and Critical theories. She often participates various International Conferences, and also has published various articles on media issues.
