Biography

LESLIE ANNE L. LIWANAG (leslie.liwanag@dlsu.edu.ph) is a faculty member at De La Salle University Laguna’s School of Innovation and Sustainability. She earned her PhD in Philippine Studies from De La Salle University Manila at age 26. Her teaching experience includes full-time faculty positions at Visayas State University, Central Luzon State University, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Internationally, she has served as a visiting research professor at the Catholic University of America, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Princeton Theological Seminary’s Overseas Ministries Study Center. She co-leads AI-assisted research mentoring workshops at DLSU, promoting responsible generative AI use in academic research. Her scholarly contributions earned her a nomination for the St. Miguel Febres Cordero Pillar of Lasallian Excellence Award in Research. Her research interests include Philippine and Asian Studies, media and cultural studies, Filipino philosophy, intellectual history, religion and society, cultural identity, representation, and interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary social issues.
